Micronic Receives Order for an Advanced TFT-LCD Laser Pattern Generator


TABY, Sweden, July 1, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Micronic Laser Systems AB (OM Stockholm Exchange: MICR), a leading manufacturer of laser pattern generation equipment to semiconductor and display industries, today announced that it has received an order in the end of the second quarter for a LRS11000 series TFT-LCD (thin film transistor - liquid crystal display) laser pattern generator from a major merchant photomask manufacturer in Asia. Delivery is scheduled for Q4, 2002. In addition to this order the customer has an option for an extension of an existing system due in the fourth quarter.

Micronic confirms the sales outlook for H1, 2002 as deliveries of systems have taken place according to schedule. "We are quite happy to reach our sales estimates, as well as seeing a recovery in booking, in a market that despite positive indications still is to be characterized as unstable " said Sven Lofquist, president and CEO of Micronic Laser Systems AB.
