Anoto and Sysnet Launch Paper-Based Services Enabling Anoto Functionality in the U.K.

LUND, Sweden, Oct. 7, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Anoto (Stockholm:ANOT) (Other OTC:AOTOF) and Sysnet, U.K.-based technology company, collaborate to launch digital pen and paper-based mobile phone services for the consumer and enterprise markets in the U.K. Anoto's standardised services, graphical emails and digital notes sent directly from a digital paper and customer specified services, will be launched late 2002. Anoto will receive upfront revenues of SEK 500.000 as an initial start up project fee.

Anotos "hosting solution," offers a mobile operator-independent distributor like Sysnet with the opportunity to launch mobile consumer and enterprise services enabling Anoto functionality, while Anoto operates the infrastructure. Anoto has previously announced hosting solutions with MilCom, which in October will be launching Anoto functionality in Denmark, and with Chiahui, which will launch Anoto enabled consumer and enterprise services through mobile networks in Taiwan before the end of the year.

"The hosting solution broadens our offering and enables distributors and service providers to introduce Anoto functionality, making it available for mobile phone users via all mobile operators in one country. Sysnet will be offering Anoto enabled services in the U.K. and Anoto will be hosting the infrastructure. In addition, discussions with several mobile operators in the U.K. regarding distribution of products and product development are ongoing," said Christer Fahraeus, CEO of Anoto Group AB.

The revenue model used in collaboration with Sysnet is based on sharing revenues generated by these services, whereby Anoto is providing the infrastructure together with certain basic services. Customised open services developed by Sysnet will work with both Sony Ericssons digital pen, Chatpen and Logitechs digital pen, Logitech IO. In addition, Sysnet will sell and distribute Anoto's Application Development Kit (ADK) and Demo Kits.

"We have been partnering with Anoto for a long time and we believe the Anoto functionality has enormous potential. We feel confident that easy-to-use services in line with customer needs will appeal to customers wishing to render their business processes more effective. Besides offering Anoto functionality to the consumer market, we will develop and sell customised paper-based services for the enterprise market," said Peter Burtwistle, CEO of Sysnet.
