Tryggve Sthen has Been Appointed President, SKF Automotive Division


GOTEBORG, Sweden, Feb. 27, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mr. Tryggve Sthen, has been appointed President, SKF Automotive Division. He will take up his position on April 1, 2003, following Tom Johnstone's appointment as President and CEO of SKF (Nasdaq:SKFR).

At present, Tryggve Sthen is Senior Vice President AB Volvo and member of the Group executive committee. He has held a number of executive positions within Volvo and has been president of Volvo Trucks as well as Volvo Construction Equipment. He has earlier also been president of several companies within ASEA/ABB.

"I am delighted that Tryggve will join the SKF management team. He brings to SKF considerable senior management experience in running international operations in both the automotive and electronics business," said Tom Johnstone.

Tryggve Sthen is 50 years old, has a M.Sc. in technical physics and electrotechnology from Linkopings Institute of Technology, Sweden. Tryggve Sthen is married, has three children and lives in Goteborg.
