Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia Names Terri Boatman Director of Statewide Career and Vocational Services

ATLANTA, April 14, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia has named Terri Boatman as director of statewide career and vocational services. Boatman coordinates employment training and placement services for job-seeking Georgians with epilepsy and the employers wishing to hire them.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia provides job-seeking skills, individual career assessment, disclosure training, placement assistance and computer training to persons with seizure disorder. The organization actively recruits employers and transit partners for placement assistance. The program is partially funded through grants from the Georgia Department of Labor and the United Way.

Other funding for the Epilepsy Foundation's services comes from development programs such as the Magnolia Run -- the 4-mile race and 1-mile fun run held June 28 in Atlanta. The organization's latest fundraising campaign, ZERO LUNCHES, ZERO "NO"s, encourages Georgians to donate their lunch money for epilepsy services and research. In March, the Georgia Legislature and Governor Sonny Purdue mandated May 29 as ZERO LUNCHES, ZERO "NO"s Day in support of the campaign.
