SKF Acquires Leading Specialist in Servo Gears for the Printing Industry


GOTEBORG, Sweden, April 22, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- SKF (Nasdaq:SKFR), has acquired Scandrive Control AB, a leading Swedish manufacturer of integrated servo gears for the printing industry. Based in Kolback, near Vasteras, and with 22 employees Scandrive has yearly sales of some 30 MSEK.

Scandrive manufactures compact integrated actuation units incorporating a servo gear technology. These units are specially developed for high speed and high quality offset printing presses.

Scandrive will be part of the Printing Business Unit within SKF Industrial Division. This new assortment complements SKF's offering to the printing industry, thus strengthening SKF's position as a leading supplier to this customer segment.
