The Associated Press Launches Stockgroup's Online Financial Applications for Web Sites at NEXPO in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, June 17, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Associated Press and Stockgroup Information Systems (OTCBB:SWEB) (TSX Venture Exchange:SWB), a leading provider of financial data and software, have launched AP Financial Tools, applications for Web sites aimed at helping newspapers offer readers an array of sophisticated financial information, including quotes, charts and personal portfolios.

Under the terms of the agreement, the AP will distribute Stockgroup's financial data and software systems, which include more than 30 proprietary financial and software tools and 100 data sources, to its member newspapers.

"AP Financial Tools is another offering to help newspapers build Web traffic and revenue," said Deputy Director of Membership Services Rick Spratling. "When paired with AP news, AP Financial Tools package provides a flexible, scalable financial data solution that reduces development time and costs for our member newspapers."

"We are pleased to have The Associated Press officially launch our AP/Stockgroup branded state-of-the-art financial content and software applications at NEXPO, the leading publisher convention in the world. This is another milestone in our relationship with The Associated Press. AP's member newspapers will now have access to financial content and software applications that help them to reduce the cost of providing financial information and build their brand and readership," said Marcus New, CEO of Stockgroup.

Developed and configured by Stockgroup, the financial tools complement AP's existing financial content and offer robust functionality for users. AP Financial Tools enable newspaper Web sites to offer a sophisticated presentation of financial and market information. The turnkey solution displays financial data including quotes, charts, personal portfolios and watch lists in a format that retains the look and feel of the newspaper Web site. AP Financial Tools will encourage users to spend more time on the site and to make repeat visits to monitor stock quotes and portfolios. AP Financial Tools are available as hosted products or via XML and include standard advertising formats to facilitate the acquisition of local section sponsors and advertisers.
