Harsco's SGB Division Secures $8 Million Equipment Order To Support New Construction At Dubai International Airport

HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 19, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today that its SGB Group access services division has been awarded an $8 million shoring equipment order to support construction of a major new terminal at Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates.

The order calls for SGB to supply GASS aluminum shoring equipment and design support services over the next two years during construction of Dubai International's new Terminal 3. Approximately two-thirds of SGB's projected revenues are expected to come from equipment sales and the balance from equipment rentals.

Already one of the busiest and fastest-growing airports in the world, Dubai International is in the initial stages of an immense $4.1 billion expansion that will nearly triple its passenger capacity to almost 60 million passengers a year. The new multi-level Terminal 3 will be built largely underground, with a thick suspended slab acting as a "roof" over which aircraft will taxi on the apron above. The massive structure is planned to feature 180 check-in counters, 27 gates, and 2,600 underground parking spaces.

The new order mirrors SGB's similar support to the construction of Terminal 5 at London's Heathrow Airport, where SGB is supplying a range of shoring equipment, primarily on a rental basis, under a contract valued at up to $2.5 million. SGB's involvement will continue through most of 2004. Both contracts illustrate SGB's capability to support major international infrastructure projects.

The SGB Group division is part of Harsco's Access Services Segment, one of the world's largest and most complete providers of access, shoring and forming-related services and equipment serving the worldwide non-residential construction and industrial maintenance markets.
