HOUSTON, April 16, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Transmeridian Exploration, Inc. (OTCBB:TMXN) will host two breakfast meetings at the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) Oil and Gas Investment Symposium.

Lorrie T. Olivier, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Randall D. Keys, Chief Financial Officer of Transmeridian Exploration will host breakfast table meetings on Tuesday, April 20th and Wednesday, April 21st at The Oil and Gas Investment Symposium hosted by IPAA. The conference will be held at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers located at 811 6th Avenue at 52nd Street. Breakfast meetings begin at 8:00 AM both mornings.

TMXN will also host an investor dinner on Tuesday night, April 20th in New York City and will be conducting a variety of investor presentations during the week in New York, Hartford and Boston.

The Oil and Gas Investment Symposium is one of the premier conferences for publicly traded independent exploration & development companies. The IPAA expects over 1,000 people to attend the three day event including over 500 buy and sell side analysts and portfolio managers.
