Song Supplies Fixed-Line Telephony to Vattenfall

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Song Networks Holding AB's Swedish subsidiary Song Networks Svenska AB announced today that it has signed a major agreement with Vattenfall Forsaljning Sverige regarding fixed-line telephony. Song Networks is becoming the new supplier to Vattenfall and its approximately 110,000 telephony customers. The agreement will run for 2 years and is estimated to be worth SEK 250 million.

"This has been a very pleasing deal for us at Song. It clearly shows that our services within fixed-line telephony are doing well on the market. It is particularly pleasing as we are investing continually in the infrastructure with the aim of rationalizing, quality-assuring and facilitating the convergence between voice and data communication. We are now receiving confirmation in black and white that this is being appreciated by the market," says Mats Lundqvist, Managing Director of Song Networks in Sweden.

"Song Networks has the infrastructure and the technology to facilitate the transition to IP telephony. For us, this is a natural development of our customer offer, which we hope to have in place by the start of next year," says Per Thorin, Manager of Infocom Products at Vattenfall.

Song Networks and Vattenfall were already collaborating within ADSL services, which means that Vattenfall can offer its customers access to high-speed ADSL. The collaboration regarding voice and data communication is based on Song Networks' Nordic-wide fibre network with IP technology.
