HERNDON, Va., Aug. 4, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Bernard P. McVey Jr. vice president and controller for the company's Information Technology (IT) sector effective September 1.

He will be responsible for the sector's financial operations, including general accounting, accounts payable and payroll, and ensure compliance with internal control practices and company policies and procedures.
"Bernard is an accomplished financial professional whose background in business growth will be an asset to the IT sector," said James O'Neill, president, Northrop Grumman IT. "His track record and expertise in international contracting, program financial management, commercial business and the Department of Defense will help the sector meet financial and customer objectives."
McVey joined Northrop Grumman in 1978 and most recently was vice president and business manager for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance and Naval Systems division of the company's Electronic Systems sector.
McVey earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting, and a master's in business administration, from Loyola College, Baltimore, Md. He is also a certified public accountant.
