Yap International Announces Unique VoIP Personal Gateways

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Yap International, Inc. (Other Pink Sheets:YPIL) today announced its proprietary VoIP Personal Gateway technology.

VoIP Personal Gateways are a significant enhancement to existing VoIP services that allow customers to connect to the Internet through Telephone Adapters, software downloads, or by purchasing VoIP-designed telephone handsets. The limitation of current VoIP solutions is that the customer has to be physically present at the location of their VoIP hardware or software solution - for example at their home - to make VoIP-enabled calls.

The Yap International Personal Gateway (the Nomad) is a patent-pending solution to this problem. The Nomad technology incorporates a VoIP Telephone Adapter with a unique telephone number that allows the customer to not only make VoIP-enabled calls from a telephone physically connected to the Gateway, but also allows the customer to call their Personal Gateway from any cellular or landline push button phone in the world, or through their laptop or PDA, to then connect to the Internet for VoIP call savings and other online information services.

Customers call their Gateway and enter a PIN which then generates a new VoIP dial tone allowing Internet-based calls from any cellular or PSTN telephone. Future applications for the Yap International Gateway technology include the ability to access online information services, send and receive email, short text messaging and Instant Messaging services, surf the web, and enact any combination of voice-enabled and voicemail services.

Joseph Weaver, President and COO, said, "With the Nomad product line we have raised the bar for what people will come to expect from VoIP-enabled technology providers in the future. We are completing final trials of the product from our manufacturer in January 2005 and are in active discussions with multiple distribution partners across the world, all of whom who have expressed their excitement and desire to partner with us and the unique VoIP solutions that we offer."
