DALLAS, April 27, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SmartTrust, the leader in mobile device management, today announced that U.S. wireless carrier Dobson Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:DCEL) has expanded its use of the SmartTrust mobile service and device management platform to meet the rapid growth of its GSM services. The SmartTrust platform, which enables over-the-air (OTA) management of subscribers, their devices and access to mobile services to simplify the mobile experience, will allow Dobson to activate new subscribers more quickly, remotely update SIM settings (including roaming data) and transparently deploy new data applications to all subscribers.
Dobson Communications, which operates under the Cellular One and Dobson Cellular Systems brands, launched GSM services in addition to its existing TDMA services in early 2004. The carrier will use the SmartTrust platform both for new subscriber activation and for migrating TDMA customers to its extensive GSM network that serves customers in Alaska, Arizona ,Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia and Wisconsin .
