NetMusic Entertainment Announces Availability of Digital Media Delivery Platform

SEATTLE, July 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- NetMusic Entertainment Corporation (Pink Sheets:NTMT) announced the availability of its NetMusic Delivery Platform (NDP). The platform is scheduled to enter a closed beta test on July 22, 2005 and be ready for sale to clients in the first week of August.

The NetMusic Delivery Platform is designed to allow customers to quickly and easily establish a digital music service (DMS) using an Application Service Provider (ASP) model, hosted model, or source code licensing. The platform utilizes an open component architecture that allows maximum choice for the client, including the ability to use a choice of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and IBM's DB2), integrate with the client's legacy reporting and data, interface with multiple merchant services (Authorize.Net, PayPal, 2Checkout), and utilize a number of different content management systems (CMS) for the digital media storage. The NetMusic Delivery Platform is built using standards-based technologies such as C No., ASP.NET, XML, and XSLT and runs via Microsoft's .NET platform as well as Novell's Mono platform on either the Windows Server family or Unix servers.

"Our goal in the design of the NetMusic Delivery Platform was to create a robust architecture that was easily customizable by the client and that offered all of the components of a digital music service in one package. We have been receiving inquiries on the licensing of the software that powers netmusic.com since day one and realized that it made more sense for us to open up the entire platform to customers than to customize our existing codebase over and over and it is obvious from the response that customers have been clamoring for something like this for a long time," says Glen Starchman, NetMusic Entertainment Corporation's CEO.

The NetMusic Delivery Platform's initial customer, a well-known digital media player manufacturer, is expected to go live in early August, to be followed a number of additional customers in the digital media player, entertainment, and hospitality industries. The platform's ASP edition will allow customers to sell their own digital content, content licensed to NetMusic Entertainment Corporation, or a combination of both allowing for maximum flexibility to the customer.

"The model makes perfect sense," continues Starchman. "As the digital music industry continues to pick up steam more and more companies want to enter into the fray. The NetMusic Delivery Platform allows those companies to deliver a top-tier digital music service at a low price and takes away the headaches of building and maintaining a service from scratch."

Pricing for the NetMusic Delivery Platform has not yet been set and will depend on the configuration chosen by the customer. Interested parties should contact platform@netmusic.com for further information.
