Local Golf Technology Success Story Adopts Microsoft Business Solutions to Fuel Future Growth

GPS Industries looks to Tectura and Microsoft Great Plains to streamline operations, improve customer satisfaction, lay the foundation for growth

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., July 26, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- GPS Industries (OTCBB:GPSN), a Vancouver-based developer of golf business solutions, has selected Microsoft partner Tectura to implement its new Microsoft Great Plains ERP system. Since its founding in 1995, GPS Industries has successfully marketed its products to the multibillion-dollar golf industry, pioneering the use of global positioning system (GPS) and Wi-Fi technologies to enhance a golfer's game and a course's profitability. With 40 employees in North America and growing, GPS Industries sought a technology partner and a business system that would help the company operate more efficiently, while strengthening client and partner relationships.

GPS Industries has nearly a decade of experience in GPS technology, and was the first company to introduce a handheld and a color handheld GPS golf unit. Its patented Inforemer solution integrates advanced GPS technology, a high-speed Wi-Fi wireless network and a comprehensive information management program to enable golf facilities to improve and manage operations, generate new sources of revenue and enhance the golf experience. Legendary golfer and businessman Greg Norman recently partnered with GPS Industries to introduce Inforemer to golf courses worldwide, in addition to joining the company's Board of Advisors.

As a fast growing electronics manufacturer and publicly traded company, GPS Industries needed timely and accurate reporting for top-level management, investors, and advisors. In addition, the company wanted to improve inventory accuracy, tracking and control to enable the company to maintain its customer satisfaction levels.

"As a solution provider, we recognized that our company needed a system that would not only grow with us, but also allow us to operate more efficiently and make more profitable decisions moving forward. We also needed a system that would allow us to further raise the bar on client service," said George Dorin GPS Industries' Chief Financial Officer. "After speaking with Tectura's team, we felt that their top-quality professional services and accounting expertise, combined with Microsoft Great Plains, could help us take our company to the next level."

GPS Industries was impressed with the standard functionality provided by Microsoft Great Plains, in addition to the Financials and Distribution modules. "Microsoft Great Plains offers us a robust, fully integrated reporting system -- one that will give us greater visibility into our business and allow us to identify areas where we can reduce costs and increase profitability," said George Dorin, GPS Industries.

GPS was impressed with The Great Plains Business Portal -- it will allow GPS Industries to further unlock business potential and enhance productivity by providing role-based access to information and processes from a single web-based portal. Microsoft Business Portal integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Great Plains to deliver applications, information, and processes to employees, customers and partners across an organization. It also will enable GPS Industries to leverage its existing Microsoft SharePoint and SQL Server investments.

As part of its business, GPS Industries partners with leaders in sports and technology, such as Greg Norman's Great White Shark Enterprises and CBS Sportsline, to offer its customers and investors the ability to do more. "Having the right ERP system in place, complete with a web-based portal, will ensure that GPS Industries can provide its partners with quality service and allow them to do business together more efficiently," said George Dorin, GPS Industries.

Implementation for the new system is already underway and is due to go live in the fall of this year.
