Former MCI President of Business Markets Robert Hartnett Joins SmartServ Board of Directors


PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa., Sept. 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SmartServ Online, Inc. (OTCBB:SSRV), a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) that provides mobile phone service with the best in low cost prepaid minute plans and the latest in mobile content, today announced that former president of MCI's Business Markets has joined the company's board of directors. Mr. Hartnett will replace Timothy Wenhold who recently resigned from the board. Mr. Wenhold will continue to serve in his role as Executive Vice President and COO of SmartServ.

Robert Hartnett is a private investor and the former Chairman of the Board and CEO of Blue Ridge Networks. Prior to Blue Ridge Networks, Mr. Hartnett served as President of Business Markets for MCI. A 20-year veteran of MCI, Mr. Hartnett also served as CEO of UUNET.
