Hybrid Technologies Opens Lithium Vehicle Development and Production Plant in Mooresville, NC -- 'Racetown, USA'

Hybrid Attracts Top Vehicle Development Executive to Run the New Facility

CHARLOTTE, N.C. and LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:HYBT) (www.hybridtechnologies.com) -- and its subsidiaries -- R-Electric Car Co., Global Hybrid Corp., and Solium Power Corp., -- emerging leaders in the development and marketing of Lithium-powered products worldwide, is pleased to announce that due to increased development and production requirements and the addition of several new vehicles, Hybrid has approved the expansion and relocation of their plant from Van Nuys, California to North Carolina.

Headed up by one of the nation's top vehicle engineers and designers, Mr. Ron Cervin, formerly of world-renowned Cinema Vehicles, the new facility promises to produce an ever-increasing number of lithium powered vehicles. Mr. Ron Cervin, engineer on Hybrid's Mini Cooper for diplomatic service, the precedent-setting R-car and the PT Cruiser, will now work full-time for Hybrid Technologies and is responsible for the implementation of automation systems as well as advanced re-engineering of vehicles for Hybrid's production slate.

Mr. Ron Cervin, Chief Engineer for Hybrid Technologies stated: "Having worked in the Hollywood industry for many years and most notably with Cinema Vehicles, I am confident that my experience coupled with Hybrid Technologies' already impressive technology will be a successful relationship. My goals with my new role will be to provide the public and government clients with the latest in hybrid vehicle technology. Recently announced batteries supplied by Korea-based EaglePicher Kokam, have provided our corporation with the safest and most efficient energy storage possible."

The production facility will replace the current Van Nuys facility and is approximately 4 times larger, thus providing Hybrid with a shorter development and production time as well as giving Hybrid access to the world-renowned automotive labor pool located in Mooresville, NC, known throughout North America as "Racetown, USA". The city board and mayor Al Jones are very proactive in recruiting automotive corporations to their city; therefore, the area's infrastructure as well as local and state officials clearly will support Hybrid.

With the addition of several two wheeled vehicles as well as the highly popular Smart Car to the Hybrid production lineup, Hybrid executives are now implementing second tier marketing approaches, thus allowing substantial orders to flow through the new facility.

Holly Roseberry, President of Hybrid Technologies, stated, "With the addition of in-house talent such as Mr. Ron Cervin and Mr. Martin Koebler, we are now in an enviable position of being on the leading edge of not only development and production but also manufacturing of lithium vehicles."

Hybrid Technologies is scheduling a state event to announce their arrival to the area; a press release will be sent out to media prior to the event.
