BAE Systems to Utilize Telelogic's DoDAF Suite

BAE Systems Embraces Telelogic's Tool Suite to Support the Department of Defence Architecture Framework (DoDAF)

MALMO, Sweden, Nov. 8, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Stockholm Exchange:TLOG), one of the leading providers of software solutions to the U.K. Defense and Aerospace industry will supply its Telelogic Enterprise Architect for DoDAF (EADoDAF) solution to BAE Systems. The agreement, part of the deal announced on October 3, 2005, which builds upon the already successful DOORS product suite used by BAE Systems, will provide a market leading suite of tools to approximately 100 engineers and allow the group to comply with the United States Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).

Telelogic EADoDAF is a comprehensive solution for defining and constructing DoDAF-compliant enterprise architectures. Telelogic Enterprise Architect for DoDAF's powerful modeling capabilities ensure consistency of DoDAF views by automatically propagating diagram changes across the enterprise architecture. Auto-generation of many DoDAF views and instant, automatic error detection deliver significant productivity gains. Traceability between DoDAF specifications and standards can be established and maintained making compliance simpler and easier to ensure. Executable models enables the user to validate architecture descriptions, facilitating getting it right earlier in the process.

"We saw lots of advantages in using Telelogic's EADoDAF solution", said Alan Harding, Consultant System Engineer - Enterprise Engineering, BAE Systems Integrated System Technologies. "It builds upon a platform we already use, namely the DOORS Requirements Management suite". Harding added, "This offers us a great deal of flexibility as the DoDAF templates and modeling tools fully integrate with this capability out of the box. The tool comes pre-loaded with the DoDAF templates as well as an industry standard training model that helps jump start development for new users."

"BAE Systems evaluated the Telelogic DoDAF solution which was a natural fit for the market they operate in which is the provision of integrated mission critical C4ISR systems solutions" said Ingemar Ljungdahl, chief technology officer at Telelogic. "Telelogic is striving where ever possible to make it easy for customers to integrate new technologies into their existing capabilities, be they supplied by Telelogic or 3rd party vendors." Ljungdahl concluded, "DoDAF and the related standards form a cornerstone of our product strategy. Flexible, integrated capabilities that support the latest industry standards. It's what our customers are looking for and we aim to deliver."
