In January 2006, the total number of passengers in Copenhagen Airport increased by 5.7 Percent


COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Feb. 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- In January 2006, the total number of passengers in Copenhagen Airport increased by 73,060 passengers (+5.7%) compared with January 2005. In January 2006 traffic was influenced negatively by bad weather as well as a strike among the pilots at SAS causing cancellations of around 800 departures.

Breakdown of departing passengers: The number of locally departing passengers increased by 42,998 passengers (+10.3%). The number of transfer/transit passengers decreased by 7,462 passengers (3.2%).

International passengers:

The number of scheduled international passengers increased by 57,917 passengers (+5.4%), while the number of international charter passengers increased by 8,772 (+10.0%). Consequently, the total number of international passengers increased by 66,728 passengers (+5.7%). Domestic passengers: The total number of domestic passengers increased by 6,332 passengers (+5.4%) compared with January 2005. Operations and take-off weight: In January 2006, the total number of take-offs and landings decreased by 1,887 operations (8.8%), while the tonnage decreased by 38,400 tonnes (6.1%) compared with January 2005.
