LOS ANGELES, March 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- City of Angels Medical Center announced today that it intends to significantly enhance hospital services to the community over the coming year. The medical center also announced that it had successfully concluded a hospital-wide survey by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program.

"We are gratified by HFAP's survey and are pleased that the medical center received overall exemplary ratings. We expect to receive formal confirmation within 90 days," said City of Angels spokesman Roger Gillott. "We continue to be committed to providing much-needed, high-quality and accessible hospital services. In the coming year, we expect to continue a significant expansion of our facilities to better provide for the medical needs of an under-served community."

Among those enhancements will be orthopedic, spinal and psychiatric services, as well as a comprehensive weight-loss center.

During the past year, City of Angels has greatly enhanced operations throughout the medical center to further solidify the quality of patient care and to ensure that policies and practices throughout the hospital reflect the industry's best practices.
