SANTA CRUZ, Calif., April 25, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- ClickTracks Analytics Inc. (www.clicktracks.com), maker of the award-winning line of web analytics software, today announced general availability of ClickTracks 6.1 and reported the first round of results from clients using the new click fraud detection features now available in 6.1.

ClickTracks 6.1 features a new Click Fraud report that exposes pay-per-click campaigns with statistically significant variances from other campaigns, whether they're the result of click fraud or a poorly-performing ad that's depleting your ad budget. ClickTracks Pro, which includes the Click Fraud report, installs in less than an hour. The Click Fraud report can look back in time and report potential click fraud behavior that occurred in months or years past. The report then allows marketers to substantiate suspicious campaign behavior by generating a detailed fraud forensics report suitable for submission to the PPC provider.

Refunds Already Awarded

Joe Tedd, operations manager at the New York City-based diamond e-tailer DiamondHarmony.com, is a ClickTracks customer using the early release version of 6.1. "Since we began using ClickTracks 6.1, which was at the start of the 2005 holiday shopping season, it helped us identify up to $10,000 in fraudulent clicks," he said. "ClickTracks paid for itself with this first round of identified fraud."

Likely Fraud with Supporting Evidence

Michael Lieberman, Search Marketing Manager for Ripple Effects Interactive, participated in ClickTracks' early access program for Click Fraud detection. "We ran historical analysis on one of our client's web logs. ClickTracks' Click Fraud report singled out a campaign that was generating disproportionately high volumes of clicks from Turkey," says Lieberman. "The forensics report from ClickTracks showed a majority of visitors from Turkey had no referrer, and spent near zero time on site. While we are still awaiting refund confirmation, the campaign has been adjusted to produce higher quality visitors." Lieberman continued, "This is exactly the kind of result we expect from ClickTracks -- it makes us smarter and benefits our customers at the same time."

Knowing When it's Not Fraud is Just as Important

"ClickTracks helped us learn that PPC visitors from Mexico spent a short time on site for a particular campaign," explained ClickTracks customer James Wright, founder of Reserved Technology, a web design firm in Jacksonville, Florida. "While we first suspected click fraud, the Click Fraud report gave us the info we needed to determine that this was not fraud--so instead of pursuing a refund, we limited the geographical target of the ad to the US, restricted the syndicated placement, and saved our client from paying for worthless clicks."
