Outsourcing Center Studies Outsourcing Relationships and Selects the Eight Best for Awards

DALLAS, June 1, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Outsourcing Center, the world's premier source of information on all aspects of outsourcing, announced today the eight winners of the 2006 Outsourcing Excellence Awards.

The eight winning relationships are:

  Best BPO Hughes and ACS
Best ITO Vanguard Car Rental and Perot Systems
  Best EU Invista and Freeborders
Best Financial Services Channel Life and Alfinanz
Best Healthcare St. Vincent Health System and Eclipsys
Best Business Challenge Citrix and HP Global Services
Best Offshore Delta Airlines and Wipro
Best Partnership BT and Accenture HR Services

An independent panel of industry experts rigorously reviewed the nominations, which came from companies that spanned the globe. The winners demonstrated outstanding business relationships in all components of their outsourcing engagements.

Said Jerry Bowles, outsourcing writer for Forbes and judging panel member, "The quality of entries was extremely high this year, and choosing the winners was more difficult than usual. I think that's a reflection of how good both buyers and suppliers have become over the past few years in managing successful outsourcing contracts and building relationships that last."

The Outsourcing Center will honor the winners at a July 26-27 event that includes sailing on the Forbes Highlander Yacht, speaking in an educational morning seminar, participating in a round-table luncheon, and culminating at a black-tie dinner and awards ceremony in New York City.

Remarked John Funk, Esq., "Partner" in Morgan Lewis' Global Outsourcing Practice and judging panel member, "Outsourcing is a compelling proposition if done right. Several of this year's nominations elicited an audible "Wow!" Their relationships demonstrate just how successful a carefully cultivated outsourcing relationship can be."

The August 1 issue of the Outsourcing Journal (www.outsourcing-journal.com) will publish a detailed look at all eight outsourcing relationships. In addition, Forbes will mention the winners of the coveted award in its June 3 issue.

"If there was one theme throughout this year's nominees, it was how suppliers went the extra mile for their buyers," says Beth Ellyn Rosenthal, Outsourcing Journal Editor and the journalist who interviewed all nominated companies.

The other interesting finding, according to Rosenthal, was that some companies who sent IT work offshore were able to use the savings to hire more Americans at home.
