Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania Appoints Adare McMillan, CPA, as Chief Administrative Officer


PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Adare McMillan, a certified public accountant with over fifteen years' experience in both public and private industry in implementing systems conversions, improving financial processes, and executing strategic and operational plans, has been appointed Chief Administrative Officer for Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/SEP).

McMillan previously had served as Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer at the National Constitution Center, in Philadelphia, since 2002. His responsibilities included finance, information technology, human resources, and office administration. Prior to his position at the Center, he was Controller for the Philadelphia Orchestra, and also held positions of leadership at CIGNA Corporation, Independence Blue Cross, Prudential Insurance Company, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

At the National Constitution Center, McMillan is credited with establishing risk management processes, revamping human resources and developing an effective technology staff. From 1999 through 2002, he served as Controller for the Philadelphia Orchestra Association. At CIGNA Corporation, he was Director of Accounting Services from 1994 through 1999. From 1988 to 1994, he was Manager, Finance Division, at Independence Blue Cross. He was Associate Audit Manager from 1984 through 1988 at The Prudential Insurance Co. He began his professional career in 1980 at Coopers and Lybrand, LLP, (now PricewaterhouseCoopers, a major international accounting and consulting firm) where he was Senior Staff Accountant.

His membership affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs, Norwegian Woods Maintenance Association (Past Treasurer), Bodine High School Home and School (Past President), National Black MBA Association, and other community organizations.

A resident of Newark, DE, McMillan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting (Cum Laude) from the University of Scranton, and his Master of Business Administration degree in Corporate Finance from Drexel University.
