Technology Credit Union Gets More by Giving Back

Social Partnerships Benefit the Community and Help Tech CU Penetrate Into New Markets

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 22, 2006 -- Technology Credit Union (Tech CU), among the top one percent of the nation's largest credit unions, announced today its upcoming partnership with Valley Children's Museum (VCM) of Dublin, California. Tech CU is partnering with Children's Museum in a community outreach effort that is part of the credit union's grand opening celebration of its newest full service branch located in Dublin. Tech CU will donate $10 to VCM for every new account or membership opened at the Dublin center between December 1st, 2006 and January 31st, 2007. The anticipated goal is to donate in excess of $2,000. The Grand Opening Celebration of the Financial Center is scheduled for December 2nd.

"Tech CU has a long tradition of supporting the communities we serve," said Kathleen Litman, VP of marketing for Tech CU. "We partner with a charitable organization as part of our branch openings because it helps us to immediately communicate that we plan to be an integral member of that community. Supporting a well-known, highly respected non-profit organization in the new community helps us to do just that."

Tech CU's most recent grand opening for its Cupertino Financial Center was a success for both the credit union and its partner, Cupertino Community Services (CCS). The new center saw approximately 200 new accounts opened in July and August, enabling Tech CU to donate $2,000 to CCS. Proceeds will go toward expanding the organization's food bank, its staff and available housing and shelters, as well as creating new financial education programs.

"We're a small organization, and the support we get from companies like Tech CU is our lifeblood," said CCS Program Director Kim Ferm. "This grant will directly impact the number of families we are able to help and the kinds of support programs we can offer. Thank you Tech CU!"

Tech CU has provided grassroots leadership, volunteerism and contributions to the communities making up its field of membership since the credit union's founding in 1960. In 2006, Tech CU and its employees donated resources, time and energy to more than 50 local programs and charitable organizations, ranging from the YMCA/YWCA and Girls for Change to the American Red Cross and Second Harvest Food Bank. In addition, the credit union gave more than $30,000 in donations.

"Giving back is a very important part of what we do," said Ken Burns, President and CEO of Tech CU. "By helping to make our communities strong and prosper, we are essentially helping our own business to succeed down the road. It benefits everyone."

Tech CU's new full service Financial Center in Dublin offers checking accounts, money market accounts, certificates, auto loans, home equity lines of credit and mortgages. For more information on the Financial Center, go to Tech CU's web site at www.techcu.com.
