CLEVELAND, OH -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 12, 2006 -- OverDrive, Inc., a leading digital media
distributor, announced the launch of School Download Library, a new service
for students, educators, and parents to borrow and download audiobooks and
ebooks. OverDrive partnered with the Lakeshore Northeast Ohio Computer
Association (LNOCA) to be the first in the nation to offer this new service
to nearly 150,000 students from over 50 public and private school districts
in the Greater Cleveland area. LNOCA is the largest provider of INFOhio
library and information services in the state of Ohio and a leading
provider of technologies to K-12 schools in northeast Ohio. This new

School Download Library comes pre-loaded with a core collection of 740
titles with simultaneous access to every title by all students. The
collection includes hundreds of titles organized by grade level and age
with many available in both audio book and ebook formats. After downloading
free software on a computer, students search or browse School Download
Library and then download and listen or read the selected title(s).
Checkout is easy. The service requires an Internet connection and a valid
student library card. School Download Library titles can be listened to or
read on laptops, computers, Pocket PCs, PDAs, Smartphones, and MP3 players.
At the end of the loan period the download automatically expires.
"School Download Library will provide students with 24/7 access to hundreds
of assigned reading titles," stated Joanna McNally, Assistant Director of
LNOCA. "School Download Library never closes; digital audiobooks and ebooks
are never damaged or returned late. They are an excellent compliment to
reading programs, and provide accessibility features for the visually
impaired and students with reading disabilities. With simultaneous access
to all materials, they are a great tool for 'One Book One Class' projects,"
McNally added.
School Download Library features a wide selection of classics, modern
literature, picture books, foreign language learning, and study guides.
Some of the authors included in the collection are Jane Austen, H. G.
Wells, William Shakespeare, Henry David Thoreau, James Joyce, Mark Twain,
Rudyard Kipling, Jack London, Kurt Vonnegut, Ray Bradbury, Charles Dickens,
Oscar Wilde, Sinclair Lewis, Douglas Adams, William Styron, Beatrix Potter,
and Margaret Atwood.
In addition to the core collection, educators can add titles to School
Download Library from over 50,000 audio book and ebook titles offered by
OverDrive. In addition to delivering award-winning and bestselling titles
