DigitalTown, Inc. Emerges From BDC Capital

Company's Board Approves Name Change to DigitalTown, Inc.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 8, 2007 -- BDC Capital, Inc. (OTCBB: BDCN) today announced that it is changing its corporate name to DigitalTown, Inc., effective March 1, 2007. The company's board, in approving the change, said that the new name authentically reflects the company's focus on social networking and completes its evolution from a business development corporation to an operating company.

"As the company develops its nationwide community-based social network, it truly is building a digital town," Jeff Mills, of Xerox and one of BDC's directors, said. "This name brings a true identity to the company's mission and strategies."

The company will continue to be traded on the over-the-counter market and will receive a new stock symbol. The new symbol will be announced when it is assigned.

DigitalTown is linking together a nationwide social networking portal that encircles nearly 27,000 community-based "spirit" sites. At the grassroots level, Digitaltown.com, the portal's name, allows community boosters, high school students and alumni an opportunity to connect with each other and to support their local schools and businesses. From their own "hometowns" -- i.e., www.burnsvilleblaze.com -- local citizens and students can reach out to others who share their interests across the nationwide network. At the same time, people who have moved away from their hometowns easily can reconnect with former classmates, friends, neighbors and their former high schools as well.

"DigitalTown mirrors the changing media and communications patterns in our country and the world," David R. Pomije, BDC Capital chief executive officer, said. "We are connecting with each online, communicating with each other online, getting our news and information online, following our friends, kids, schools and interests online, shopping online -- and increasingly finding our entertainment online. DigitalTown, through its portal, honors the grassroots nature of our communities while connecting them into a sea-to-sea, border-to-border network."

The DigitalTown portal, now under construction, includes features such as email johnny@burnsvilleblaze.com, alumni communication and reunion tools, chat, a wide range of high school activities such as music, drama and athletics, personal profiles, photo, video and music sharing and timely community news.
