HARTFORD, Conn., Jan. 11, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Officials for Greater Hartford and Connecticut's River Valley region today are kicking off 2007 with a new Visitors Guide featuring scores of photographs and more attractions, restaurant and hotel, motel and inn listings than ever before. The free 88-page "Visitors Guide to Greater Hartford & Connecticut's River Valley" is a collaboration between the Central Regional Tourism District and the Greater Hartford Convention & Visitors Bureau.

"This is the ultimate sourcebook for both convention delegates and tourists to our region," says H. Scott Phelps, President of the Greater Hartford Convention & Visitors Bureau. "It features dynamic photos and descriptions of more than 350 attractions in almost 50 cities and towns. The guide's restaurant and accommodations listings are presented in easy-to-read formats, and the glossy magazine contains an overview of the region. Color-coded sections also include special sidebar sections that showcase professional sports, the state's ski areas, and nearby attractions."

"The Greater Hartford & Connecticut's River Valley Visitors Guide is now available at dozens of regional hotels, restaurants, attractions, and at visitor information centers throughout the Northeast. It is mailed to travel agents and convention planners worldwide, and to anyone who requests information from the Central Regional Tourism District or the Greater Hartford Convention & Visitors Bureau," explains Paul Mayer, Executive Director of the Central Regional Tourism District, home of River Valley/CONNECTicut.
