Tech CU Launches Its First Annual Community Spirit Day With a Free Children's Concert by Award-Winning Family Musician Mr. David

The Public Is Invited to Attend This Community Fair, Featuring Bay Area Nonprofits, Music, Refreshments and Giveaways

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 12, 2007 -- Technology Credit Union (Tech CU), among the top one percent of the nation's largest credit unions, is excited to announce its First Annual Tech CU Community Spirit Day, to take place Tuesday, March 6th. The event, which will showcase local nonprofits and charitable organizations, will be kicked-off with a free concert for kids given by popular family musician Mr. David, whose latest CD was just named one of 2006's top 10 albums of the year for kids and their families.

Tech CU Community Spirit Day will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and will bring together more than a dozen well-known local charitable organizations. The public is invited to attend and learn more about these organizations and how they can volunteer, donate and give back to their community in 2007.

"At Tech CU, we believe that we have a social responsibility to help improve the health of the communities we serve," said Kathleen Litman, VP of Marketing for Tech CU. "We do this by personally partnering with some great organizations through donating both time and money, but we wanted to do more. We wanted to make others aware of the good work that's being done in the local community and how people can get involved. We're hoping that by putting on an event that is informational and fun we'll encourage a few more people to get interested in giving back."

As part of the festivities, Tech CU will host a free concert for kids and their parents, put on by award-winning and nationally recognized family musician Mr. David. The 45-minute children's concert will begin at 12:30, after which, Mr. David will be available to meet children and sign autographs. The concert is free and open to the public, and Tech CU encourages everyone to attend.

For those who wish to do so, Tech CU will be accepting donations during the show, the proceeds of which will go to support Girls for A Change, Resource Area for Teachers (RAFT) and City Team Ministries. Tech CU will also be accepting donations for these three organizations on March 6th at any of its nine Bay Area locations. For a location near you, visit www.techcu.com. All three organizations offer services that directly support children and their families in the Bay Area.

"Tech CU is a true leader in positive community change. They have generously supported Girls For A Change and enabled us to empower thousands of girls in low income communities, in Santa Clara County, to become social change agents," said Whitney Smith, Co-CEO of Girls For A Change. "We are so honored to be part of Community Spirit Day and the Tech CU family."

About Mr. David

Mr. David creates rock'n music for kids and their families -- the kind that moms and dads love to listen to as much as their children. A San Jose native, Mr. David started writing music for kids four years ago, when he created a music enrichment program for local schools that's aimed at getting children excited about experiencing music. In 2006, he launched onto the national music scene with the release of his latest album "The Great Adventures of Mr. David," which was named one of 2006's Top 10 Albums for kids and families and one of NPR's Top 5 picks, according to contributing writer Zooglobble.

A dedicated songwriter, Mr. David is not afraid to use anything, from the piano to conga drum to washboards and everything in between, to create a sound that will get children rock'n to music. Mr. David is currently recording his third album, "Jump in the Jumpy House," which is due to be released in Spring 2007.
