Alma Mater of Peyton and Eli Manning Selects FieldTurf

NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 7, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The Isidore Newman School has selected FieldTurf for Lupin Field. The announcement comes after the school studied numerous other turf systems and opted for the world's most trusted brand of artificial turf. Two of the NFL's elite quarterbacks, Peyton and Eli Manning, call Isidore Newman their alma mater. Both Manning brothers play their home games in the NFL on FieldTurf at the RCA Dome and Giants Stadium, respectively.

Lupin Field is a multipurpose field that gets heavy usage by the student/athletes on campus. The field will certainly benefit from the built-in safety, durability, and playability features that have made FieldTurf the safest turf on earth.

"We studied many different products in addition to the FieldTurf system and we were most impressed by the durability of FieldTurf," said Michael Washburn, Facilities Director at the Isidore Newman School. "From a maintenance perspective, we will save a considerable amount of money and this field will probably pay for itself within 5 years. We were impressed with how the manufacturing of FieldTurf produces a blade that is more similar to natural grass than any other product we saw. The strands of fibers we looked at from the product that was in the Superdome was nowhere near the natural grass look and feel of FieldTurf's fibers. As well, the infill of the product at the Superdome was not nearly as thick as FieldTurf's. This decision makes perfect sense for our athletic department."

"Over the past decade, we have seen that our commitment to product quality has paid significant dividends for our clients," said Troy Squires, Vice-President of Sales, FieldTurf Tarkett. "FieldTurf is the only turf supplier who manufactures its own turf. This important factor cannot be overlooked. It is one of the biggest reasons why our product consistently provides a safe and durable playing field for athletes around the globe. There is no doubt in my mind that the athletes at the Isidore Newman School will benefit tremendously from this state-of-the-art turf system."

FieldTurf is fundamentally different from all others. Stable, firm not spongy, non-abrasive and uniform in traction, FieldTurf is engineered to play and feel like good natural grass. On FieldTurf, players perform with confidence -- and never experience the accelerated fatigue and muscle / joint stress associated with lightweight, rubber-filled systems.

More than 40 major NCAA universities have FieldTurf in their stadiums, with many more utilizing it at their practice sites. A selection of other universities that have FieldTurf in their football stadiums include Syracuse, Rutgers, Boston College, Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Oregon, Washington, Kansas State, Louisville, Texas Tech, Missouri and Harvard. In addition, 21 of the National Football League's 32 teams have FieldTurf at their stadiums and/or practice complexes. Also, Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Minnesota Twins and Toronto Blue Jays have FieldTurf at their respective stadiums. For more information, visit www.fieldturf.com
