TRACY, CA--(Marketwire - September 24, 2007) - Community Banks of Northern California (CBNC), a leading community bank headquartered in Tracy, today opened its Grant Line facility located at 2140 West Grant Line Road. This new ecological 7,000-square-foot facility is conveniently located with easy access to the freeway and offers expanded services and business hours, including Monday - Friday drive-up banking from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM and Saturday drive-up from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Relocated from its former 1839 West 11th Street location, the new branch also offers small and medium-sized businesses and local residents, two drive-up windows and a drive-up ATM. CBNC designed the new facility to minimize environmental impact with both customers and employees in mind.

"CBNC is committed to the communities it serves, including efforts to help reduce carbon emissions by recycling and reusing whenever possible," said Tom Havens, president & CEO. "The Grant Line branch is a prime example of CBNC's 'green' initiative, and helps set the bar for other eco-friendly CBNC bank branches in the Bay Area and the Greater San Joaquin and Sacramento Valley."

Some of the green features of the Grant Line branch include flooring and tile work comprised of recycled components, furniture featuring wood veneers harvested from sustainable forests, laminate cabinetry and countertops containing recycled content, low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) interior paint and a "radian barrier" plywood to reduce attic temperature and energy consumption. In addition, whenever possible, CBNC used materials from local manufacturers, reducing fuel consumption and pollution required for transport.

"By providing natural lighting, high quality indoor air, as well as the soothing sounds of a water feature, the branch positively impacts both employees and customers," said Jeff Hushaw, CBNC branch president, Tracy market. "And this is just the beginning for CBNC. The plan includes future 'green' building projects especially as we move forward on the new Sacramento facility slated to open in early 2008."
