Technology Credit Union Opens New Financial Center in Campbell

The Center's High-Profile Retail Location Reflects Changes in the Credit Union Industry

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - December 17, 2007) - Technology Credit Union (Tech CU), among the top one percent of the nation's largest credit unions, is pleased to announce the opening of its newest full-service financial center in Campbell, Calif., located at 1562 S. Bascom Ave. (corner of Bascom and Hamilton). The Campbell Financial Center will open its doors on Monday, December 17, 2007, with extended hours to 6:00 p.m. during the week and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

"Our move to Bascom and Hamilton (one of the busiest retail corners in the South Bay) really shows how credit unions are changing," said Kenneth Burns, President and CEO of Tech CU. "Twenty years ago, credit unions were typically located at places of employment or in out-of-the-way locations. That's just not the case today. At Tech CU, we're purposefully putting our financial centers where our members live."

Burns goes on to point out that Tech CU members also have access to a network of more than 25,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide through the CO-OP ATM Network. He explains, "We believe all these things -- retail locations, easy-to-find ATMs and longer hours -- are essential to making it more convenient for our members to do their banking."

As part of its opening celebrations, Tech CU will sponsor several community projects in the area, including two tree plantings this winter at Foresthill Elementary in Campbell and Blackford Elementary in Willow Glen. The credit union is partnering with Our City Forest, a San Jose-based nonprofit that coordinates and manages tree plantings in schools and neighborhoods throughout Santa Clara County. Tech CU also invites local children to participate in their "Trees and Our Community Poster Contest" at the Campbell Financial Center and earn a chance to win a $100 savings bond. The contest will run from December 17, 2007, to February 1, 2008, and is open to three age groups: 5 and under, 6 to 8 and 9 to 12. The winners will be announced the week of February 10th.

Tech CU's Campbell Financial Center is also offering a special limited-time member bonus of a 6.00 percent APY on a 6-month Certificate. The minimum and maximum deposit is $1,000.
