MetaPower International, Inc. Receives Additional Purchase Orders Totaling CDN$1,300,000 From Major Oil Sands Energy Company


LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- MetaPower International, Inc. (Pink Sheets:MTPW) is pleased to announce that the Company's subsidiary, MetaPower Canada, has received purchase orders totaling CDN$1,300,000 to provide Process Safety Management consulting services for a Canadian Energy Company with operations in the Oil Sands region of Northern Alberta.

MetaPower Canada received two purchase orders, totaling CDN$605,000 to provide business process consulting services to redesign the clients Management of Change Process and their Incident Learning and Prevention Process. MetaPower Canada had previously conducted an assessment of the Clients ability to comply with standard industry Process Safety Management practices. MetaPower Canada received a third purchase order for $725,000 to provide sustainment services to audit and monitor the processes and ensure that they continue to perform as designed.

MetaPower Canada has been working contracts that have provided billings of approximately US$5,100,000 from March through November 2007 with a major Canadian Energy company. MetaPower Canada has provided Management Consulting and Staffing support for their oil extraction facilities in the Oil Sands region of Northern Alberta. Approximately US$2,451,000 was billed for Management Consulting Services with another $1,936,000 billed for Staffing Support. The remaining billings represent reimbursed expenses.
