Steelcase Achieves First Place Ranking in Five Product Categories


GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Jan. 14, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Steelcase Inc. (NYSE:SCS), a global office environments manufacturer, announced today that it was awarded the top ranking in five categories by Contract Magazine's 2007 Source Guide.

The survey was comprised of 1,000 randomly selected architects, designers and facility managers who were asked to name the top three manufacturers they considered when purchasing or recommending products in various product categories.

Steelcase surpassed other companies in its industry with five first place rankings in the categories of casegoods, desks and credenzas, filing and storage, stacking seating and training tables. Steelcase companies also ranked among the top three manufacturers in the computer support furniture, conference tables, education solutions, ergonomic seating, fabric/textiles, furniture systems, healthcare textiles, moveable walls, occasional seating, occasional tables, office accessories, and wall treatments and wallcoverings.
