About Jimmy Button

At 26 years old, Jimmy Button lived and breathed motorcycles. He'd started his tenth year as a professional rider and second year with Factory Yamaha. In January of 2000, practicing for the evening's Supercross at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, Jimmy went down in the whoop section, injuring the second and third vertebrae of his spinal cord. Doctors explained that he would probably never walk again, but they underestimated Jimmy's powerful spirit. Though he didn't come back to ride, his courage won him the race to walk again. At the time of Jimmy's injury, a riders union had not been established.

About the Road 2 Recovery Foundation

In the fall of 2000 Bob Moore, Bob Walker, and Jimmy Button created the Road 2 Recovery Foundation, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping professional AMA licensed motocross members with financial assistance if they sustain career-ending injuries, as well as providing motivational, emotional, and spiritual support to these individuals and their families.
