Broken Arrow High School in Oklahoma Chooses to Upgrade to FieldTurf the Second Time Around

TULSA, Okla., May 15, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- One of the largest high schools in the state of Oklahoma has chosen to switch to FieldTurf's sand and rubber infilled system after their previous all-rubber turf system needed to be replaced as it was showing significant wear. With an outstanding facility to begin with and a renowned football coach in Ron Lancaster, the school has certainly put quality upgrades at the top of their agenda. These improvements will put Broken Arrow high school at the center of the football universe for years to come.

"We feel that FieldTurf's product best meets the current needs of our school," said Broken Arrow Athletic Director Ken Ellett. "From those we have talked to that already have FieldTurf fields, their durability and safety is unmatched. This field will be a nice upgrade from our old Astroplay field as the sand and rubber FieldTurf system performs better than all-rubber systems. We are excited about the upcoming installation and we are looking forward to many great years of service and performance from FieldTurf."

"FieldTurf is proud that Broken Arrow High School has selected the industry's best turf product," stated FieldTurf Tarkett CEO Joe Fields. "Players, coaches, and fans will notice a difference between this FieldTurf surface and the previous turf product that was on the field. From R&D, to the manufacturing process, to quality control, to our industry-best warranty, to our proven innovative turf systems, right through to our emphasis on customer care, we have earned the right to call ourselves the leader of this industry. We would like to congratulate Broken Arrow High School on selecting the industry's premier turf product."

The funding for the field will be provided by the successful passage of the district's 2006 Bond Election. Broken Arrow considers athletics as one of the most important elements in the overall education of students. This mantra is directly in line with being able to use their new FieldTurf field 24/7. Sports provide an opportunity to extend the learning process through interscholastic competition. Having the ability to allow students the opportunity to play sports consistently and frequently, assists the educational process in instilling and developing skills necessary for future success. In addition to football, the soccer and various band programs will benefit significantly from FieldTurf.
