LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - November 25, 2008) - Luthier PR -- "Yes Man," Jim Carrey's
latest film, hits theaters on December 19, but the cast and crew hit the
Bigfoot Lodge in Los Feliz, CA, months ago, selecting it as the watering
hole of choice for Carrey's character, Carl Allen.
"We are thrilled to have Bigfoot Lodge featured in 'Yes Man,'" commented
Cara Brechler, Operations Manager for The 1933 Group which owns Bigfoot and
several other bars in Los Angeles. "With the 10th anniversary of Bigfoot
coming up and the opening of our newest bar, Stinkers, our involvement in
this Warner Bros. Film is exciting and timely."
According to co-owner Dimitri Komarov, the 1933 Group is "three guys who
have been friends and business partners for more than 10 years." Taking
their name from the year Prohibition was repealed, the group prides itself
on bringing the neighborhood bar back to LA at the hands of design genius
Bobby Green.
Green draws his inspiration from his own life experience by stating, "With
each bar I design, I hope to bring a little of 'what isn't in LA' to LA."
I want to honor America and American culture by bringing places that
celebrate who and what we are as Americans to the forefront." With iconic
nightlife locations like Saints and Sinners, Little Cave, The Bigfoot
Lodge, The Lucky Tiki, and his latest success, Stinkers in Silver Lake to
his credit, Green has delivered on this vision. Each bar boasts
custom-made décor and a menu of specialty drinks tailored to each bar.
Stinkers features an authentic tractor-trailer air-horn and The Bigfoot
Lodge boasts luscious libations including the Toasted Marshmallow, Smokey's
Moonshine, and the Sasquatch.
When asked about what the future holds for The 1933 Group, Komarov and
Green look at each other and smile. "We're just a bunch of guys who like
to have a couple of beers at our neighborhood bar," Komarov starts.
"Yeah, we really just want to keep bringing the warmth of that feeling to
our community here in Los Angeles with fun, unique spots," finishes Green.
