Cisco Nexus™ 7000
series as the core switch for its new data center. Planned in response
to increased consumer demand for Yahoo! JAPAN services, the new data center
aims to improve server capacity and application performance, as well as
enhance disaster recovery capabilities. The

3.0 goal to help IT organizations respond dynamically to changing
business demands through rapid provisioning of application and
infrastructure services from shared pools of consolidated compute, storage,
and network resources.

- Yahoo! JAPAN provides 140 online services and its Internet portal
receives over 1.4 billion page views per day. Many new service offerings,
such as Yahoo! Auction and Yahoo! Shopping are being developed to support

- The Cisco Nexus 7000 series scales up to 512 10GbE Ethernet ports in a
single chassis and provides high availability with continuous operation
even during operating system upgrades and hardware switchovers.

virtualizing servers and taking advantage of Cisco Nexus 7000
virtualization capabilities, a key factor considering the new data center
can expand up to 1,000 server racks as needed due to increased consumer
demand.
