Red Bull Air Race World Championship TV Program Wins Emmy(R) Award in New York City

Global Production Team Accepts Award in the Company of Long Established Sports

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - April 28, 2009) - The Red Bull Air Race World Championship television program on Fox Sports Network received a prestigious Sports Emmy® Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences at the 30th Annual Sports Emmy® Award -- sports television's equivalent of the Oscars -- at a ceremony held in New York City on Monday evening.

Capturing the drama, speed and skill of the world's best race pilots on the ground and in the air as they fly their high performance airplanes at speeds of up to 230 miles per hour is one of the most challenging jobs in televised sport. The producers of the world program have managed to maintain the incredibly high levels of production over the five years that the Red Bull Air Race World Championship has been in existence.

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship program, which is broadcast in the U.S.A. on Fox Sports Network (FSN), won in the category: 'Outstanding Technical Team Remote' which recognizes the technical portion of sports programs in remote venues.

The program for FSN is produced by American company G.R.A.C.E. Productions together with Austrian-based production company West4Media as well as SiVision, Sky Media and Riedel Communications.

The world's leading sports broadcasters and personalities, including Muhammad Ali, came together to celebrate the successes of 2008 at a special ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

Speaking after the awards ceremony, Bernd Loidl, CEO of Red Bull Air Race GmbH, said: "It is an honor to receive an Emmy Award for a sport which is only five years old and we feel privileged to be competing for awards in the same arena as long established sports such as the Olympic Games and NASCAR."

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2008 program on FSN was watched by 3.3 million viewers in the USA. The Championship will be broadcast again this year on FSN starting in September. The Red Bull Air Race World Championship is broadcast in 131 countries across 6 continents and was watched last year by a global audience of 300 million television viewers.

The Sports Emmy® Awards recognize outstanding achievement in sports television coverage. For over a quarter of a century, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in the USA has presented the Emmy® as a reward for excellence in sports broadcasting.

U.S. crowds will have the opportunity to see just why the Red Bull Air Race was awarded the Emmy® when the second stop of the World Championship takes place in San Diego next week on May 9 and 10. The competition then moves to Windsor, Ontario on June 13 and 14 before heading across the ocean for the European leg with races in Budapest, Porto and the season finale in Barcelona.
