BASKING RIDGE, NJ--(Marketwire - September 23, 2009) - Avaya today launched a Communications
Makeover contest that asks small businesses to share the biggest
communications "disconnects" they experience in their workplace -- whether
due to mobility obstacles, customer call overloads, technology deficiencies
or any other business communications challenge. Twenty winning enterprises
with the most compelling stories will receive a complete communications
makeover, courtesy of Avaya.
To enter, small business owners and employees are asked to write in or
upload videos that answer the question "What's Your Disconnect?" with
winners receiving an Avaya IP Office communications system, the company's
flagship IP communications solution for small and medium-sized businesses.
The contest -- running now until October 15, 2009 -- targets small
businesses with 10 to 50 employees in the United States and Canada. To
enter, contestants can visit
www.avaya.com/usa/campaign/makeover and submit
their story or video describing the "communications disconnect" that they
are experiencing and want fixed.
The new contest was launched based on the feedback from many small
businesses who are feeling disconnected and seeking new communications
solutions. For example, according to a recent small business survey
conducted by Avaya, when it comes to work-at-home and mobile user
technologies, the majority of small business respondents (66 percent) say
that less than a quarter of their employees are equipped to work away from
the office(1). This statistic arrives despite the fast-rising interest in
flexible tele-working and mobile worker strategies.
Other business scenarios of those requiring Communications Makeovers
include:
-- Customers are calling, requiring an urgent connection to the right
person. Too often, instead of reaching the right employee -- messages need
to be taken or calls just aren't returned quickly enough.
-- An unexpected development -- severe weather or a personal matter -- is
leaving workers stuck at home and unable to stay in touch with customers or
colleagues. There must be a better way to remain productive at the
homefront.
-- A sale has been lost because someone simply can't get the right
colleagues together on a team conference to handle an issue or a problem.
And if you do bring in conferencing capabilities, the costs are just way
too high.
