REAL TIME, MAARTEN BAAS - ZUIDERZEE MUSEUM ENKHUIZEN

Recently named Designer of the Year 2009 by Design Miami, Baas showcases his interpretation of time with his project Real Time. In Real Time, Maarten Baas expresses his perception of time in four film clocks: Grandfather's Clock, Sweeper's Clock, Analog Digital Clock, and the Zuiderzee Clock, which he created for the Zuiderzee Museum. Filmed persons take over the function of the hands of a clock and affect the way the time is shown. The project symbolizes the Zuiderzee Museum's way of thinking with regards to time by combining the timelines of the past and the present, rather than showing history chronologically.
