IMRI Bolsters Executive Team With Esteemed Retired U.S. Navy Captain

Former Chief of Staff for the Meteorology and Oceanography Command Brings Unparalleled Regional Expertise to IMRI

LAGUNA HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - February 2, 2010) - Information Management Resources Inc. (IMRI), a service-disabled veteran, woman-owned small business, small disadvantaged corporation focused on professional engineering and information technology services and solutions, has strengthened its executive team with the addition of retired U.S. Navy Captain Pete Furze as regional executive director. Furze brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with a successful 30-year career in the U.S. Navy.

As a U.S. Navy Captain, Furze filled many strategic executive level positions including chief of staff at the Navy Meteorology and Oceanography Command and commander of Undersea Surveillance. In addition, Furze was instrumental in directing Naval recovery activities, totaling nearly 2,000 military and civil service personnel and their families following the regional devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.

Early in his Navy career, Furze managed $32M per year in acquisition programs and associated research and development while assigned to the Chief of Naval Operations Staff as the oceanography resource and requirements officer. Later, at the SPAWARSYSCOM Meteorology and Oceanography Systems Program Office, he was program manager for the Tactical Environmental Support System (TESS).

As commander of Undersea Surveillance, Furze directed a major turn-around and renewed focus on operational excellence in acoustic maritime surveillance. As chief of staff for the Meteorology and Oceanography Command, he led 3,200 operational personnel through an extensive reorganization.

In his new role as IMRI's regional executive director, Furze will run business operations at Stennis Space Center and focus on the development and expansion of the company's services and solutions in the areas of enterprise technology, cyber security, unmanned systems, and energy and power efficiency. Furze will leverage his extensive training in Naval Warfare practice in Anti-Submarine warfare, Amphibious Warfare and Humanitarian Operations to identify and develop solutions that address the needs of federal government agencies in the Gulf Coast Region.

Founded in 1992, IMRI offers a comprehensive mix of engineering and technology services based on industry best practices that support a variety of software, hardware, telecommunications and information technology needs. Noted as a highly skilled, results-oriented organization, IMRI provides resources to federal agencies, public utilities and commercial clients across the country and is leveraging that expertise to expand its foot-print in the Gulf Coast Region.

"I am thrilled to oversee the talented IMRI crew in this important region," said Furze. "IMRI has had a presence here for more than three years, and I plan to leverage the credibility that has been established as we build upon existing partnerships and forge new relationships. It's an exciting time of opportunity as we seek to increase our customer base with additional engineering and technology services to such organizations as Navy SPAWAR, Naval Oceanographic Office, NASA, National Data Buoy Center, USDA and DHS."

Added Martha Daniel, IMRI president and CEO: "Pete's long and distinguished career in Naval operations and meteorology and oceanography systems combined with his tenure at Stennis make him the ideal candidate to lead our team in the Gulf Coast Region. Pete's proven record of success will help us achieve our near-term goals, including expanding our reach in the areas of enterprise technology, cyber security, unmanned systems, and energy and power efficiency solutions."

Recent accomplishments already achieved by IMRI in this region include providing support for the Department of Defense (DoD) Supercomputer Resource Center at Stennis, Defense Integrated Military Human Resources System (DIMHRS), USDA National Finance Center, and the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) Information Systems Division, and the creation of an SBA approved mentor protégé agreement with Global Commerce and Services, a Gulf Coast Region, 8(a) HUBZone, woman owned firm.
