BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - February 3, 2010) - Lockheed Federal Credit Union and its employees donated more than $133,000 and 720 hours of community service to local charities since 2008 through its nonprofit foundation, LFCU Community Stars. These organizations include:

"Lockheed Federal Credit Union employees strongly believe in giving back to our community through dollars and time," President and CEO Dave Styler said. "We hope our efforts help strengthen the community and the very deserving local nonprofits that serve the area."

As well as giving dollars, through its Volunteer-Time-Off Program, more than 150 employees donated time to these charities since the program's inception in 2008.

LFCU hosted 11 volunteer opportunities for employee participation, one of which was the company's annual project, Partner to Paint.

Established in 2008, LFCU's Volunteer-Time-Off Program allows employees to receive company paid time off to volunteer in the community. Each employee can receive up to eight hours per year to volunteer during the work day. LFCU will again support these charities in 2010.

LFCU IN THE COMMUNITY

LFCU continues to support the community through its nonprofit foundation, LFCU Community Stars. In 2007, LFCU employees developed LFCU Community Stars Foundation to support local charities through financial donations and volunteerism. LFCU employees make contributions to sponsored charities through payroll deductions and special fund-raising events. Employees are able to volunteer during their normal work hours.

LFCU also offers a donation-matching program for employees who make contributions through payroll deduction. Additionally, LFCU Community Stars launches programs aimed at the 100,000 members of LFCU in an effort to increase the foundation's ability to help charities in the communities served by LFCU. Every year, LFCU Community Stars foundation board selects charities to support, with decisions being made by the foundation's board comprised of employees.
