TIBCO Brings Enterprise 3.0 to the Cloud With Growing Family of TIBCO Silver(TM) Products

Customers Gain New Flexibility to Manage and Deploy Just What's Needed Wherever It's Needed With TIBCO Silver CAP, TIBCO Silver BPM and DataSynapse Technology

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - May 11, 2010) -  TUCON -- TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX) today announced an expanded TIBCO Silver™ cloud computing platform, extending customers' ability to develop, deploy and manage business applications in the cloud. As one of the industry's first enterprise-class cloud platforms, TIBCO Silver will give IT organizations greater flexibility to deploy new applications, extend existing ones and adapt business processes to capitalize on new business opportunities.

The platform now includes TIBCO Silver™ CAP (Composite Application Platform) and TIBCO Silver™ BPM, a new product for managing business processes in the cloud. Both products will be generally available this month. In addition, TIBCO indicated it plans to incorporate DataSynapse™ technology into the TIBCO Silver platform. The DataSynapse technology will provide the foundation to run legacy applications in the cloud and to power private clouds while also supporting demanding grid computing applications. TIBCO also announced plans for TIBCO Silver to be supported on multiple cloud infrastructures, in addition to the currently available support for the Amazon EC2 cloud, dramatically expanding customer deployment options.

"From the nearly year-long beta of TIBCO Silver, we have witnessed an increasing focus from customers to embrace the cloud in order to accelerate business transformation, and to reduce IT costs and complexities while improving workload optimization," said Ram Menon, TIBCO's executive vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "As a result, even as we deliver today on all the capabilities originally promised as part of TIBCO Silver, we're continuing to significantly expand its enterprise-class capabilities."

Menon said realizing the Enterprise 3.0 vision of delivering timely information in the right place and context requires that customers have the flexibility to choose whatever deployment option fits their technology and business requirements best. Those options should include a mix of public, private and hybrid cloud computing models in addition to traditional on-premises deployments. "With this announcement, we are enabling our customers to do more in the cloud and giving them greater IT and business flexibility to achieve that critical two-second advantage over the competition."

TIBCO Silver CAP, a core part of the original TIBCO Silver announcement in June 2009, is the first cloud platform product designed specifically for building and deploying cloud applications inside Global 2000 IT environments. The software is designed to reduce the time required to build and deploy composite cloud applications from months to minutes.

Providing a cloud-based BPM offering gives business users agility by providing much faster time to market of new BPM projects and initiatives. TIBCO Silver BPM provides enterprise level BPM capabilities on the cloud, with a standards-based toolset and deployment environment, and secure, built-in governance. It's also built on TIBCO Silver technology -- an elastic application platform that expands as your business needs grow.

In the future, TIBCO plans to incorporate into TIBCO Silver the award-winning enterprise grid and cloud computing technology it acquired with its purchase of DataSynapse in August 2009. With a strong roster of more than 100 financial services and telecommunications clients, DataSynapse helps improve the utilization of data center resources, reduce IT capital expenses, deploy applications faster and increase system performance. The technology is planned to enable existing applications to run in the cloud, including JEE applications, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0, and a number of vertical industry specialists. In addition, new grid computing capabilities will support demanding applications used in financial services, life sciences, and government applications.

Additionally, TIBCO launched the beta of TIBCO Silver Analytics providing software as a self service-style analytics and reporting capabilities. This allows business users to import data and immediately create and then publish analytic applications and interactive reports to the cloud for collaboration with others.
