PLUS Selects Comverse's Bundled BSS/VAS Offering to Help Launch Mobile Network in Albania

Comverse ONE/Comverse HUB Combination Gains Traction Among Global Telcos

WAKEFIELD, Mass., June 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PLUS (Mobile 4 AL sh.a), Albania's newest mobile network operator, will launch its network later this year using a bundled product offering from Comverse that enables Value-Added Services (VAS), such as text messaging and call completion, to be monetized efficiently by Comverse's flagship Business Support System (BSS) product.

During the last year, several telecom operators in Western Europe and Southeast Asia have decided to launch mobile networks with Comverse's joint offering, which includes Comverse® ONE™ Billing & Active Customer Management and the Comverse HUB portfolio of VAS products. For these greenfield operators, including PLUS, time to market and quality of service are critical for gaining market penetration.

"Comverse ONE was chosen due to Comverse's complete and fully-integrated solution that would allow us to get to market quickly and fulfill our commercial goals," said Moni Buchnik, CEO at PLUS.

Comverse ONE will enable PLUS to take a unified approach to BSS convergence, handling all prepaid and postpaid customers across all lines of business (fixed and mobile). In addition, Comverse ONE's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) features, such as sales force automation, campaign management and self service, will allow PLUS to enhance the customer experience and drive sales.

For instance, Comverse ONE enables operators to quickly introduce and monetize new services, while providing a consistent and interactive customer experience regardless of customer touchpoint. It turns a BSS solution into a strategic asset, allowing operators to profit from market opportunities faster than ever.

"Comverse's bundled approach, based on two interoperable platforms, meets a key requirement by minimizing integration points and customization efforts," said Andrzej Czerczak, CTO at PLUS.

The integration between Comverse ONE and Comverse HUB takes full advantage of all synergies between BSS and VAS systems to improve efficiency, significantly reduce total cost of ownership, and accelerate time to market. At PLUS, Comverse will deploy its SMS solution and Call Completion suite.

"As the newest mobile operator in the country, PLUS requires a BSS solution that unifies all customer information to enable immediate action on that information for faster customer acquisition, better retention and improved satisfaction," said Dror Bin, President of Global Sales at Comverse, the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications.

"At the same time, our bundled approach simplifies the deployment process, removing risk and allowing PLUS to focus on its business goals -- namely, creating and launching compelling services," Bin said. "This is the long-term approach to success that today's operator needs to capture and maintain market share."

Comverse Global Services is acting as the systems integrator for end-to-end delivery, providing PLUS with a single vendor for the bundled Comverse solution.
