xMatters Launches World's First Cloud-Based Relevance Engine

xMatters Launches First Relevance Engine Service for Clients to Deliver the Information Needed at the Moment That Matters

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - June 29, 2010) -  xMatters (www.xmatters.com), the relevance engine company, today announced the general availability of the world's first hosted, cloud-based relevance engine. In the past, xMatters, formerly AlarmPoint Systems, had provided information delivery. However after continued requests from clients, they have developed a new service offering which allows clients to rapidly build and deploy relevance engines in a SaaS cloud.

Building on more than 300 man-years of technical investment, xMatters on demand provides clients with the ability to build, deploy and utilize relevance engines that deliver the information that matters to people, when it matters, so they can act on the information with a capability called mass personalization.

"Our clients have requested the ability to personalize information and deliver it on a mass scale to their mobile customers," said Troy McAlpin, CEO, xMatters. "In our mobile society, it's important for our clients to connect with their customers when services are impacted, health and safety events occur or they need to connect with a product or service. Mass personalization provides a personalized experience, across the masses."

xMatters now has hosted relevance engines designed for energy, education, telecommunications and health care organizations, as well as emergency management, business continuity and risk professionals. Additionally, numerous new features were added to this release, including the ability to quickly provision and use a relevance engine in the cloud. This new functionality improves the on boarding capabilities to reduce the time to value for clients and several additional ease of use features.

More than ever, companies must protect their customers, employees and business from catastrophes. Connecting with the right people at the moment that matters, with meaningful information so they can act fast, requires mass personalization delivered by a relevance engine.

xMatters has also offered their on demand service free to environmental cleanup organizations working on the oil spill catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico, providing communication solutions to response teams. The xMatters relevance engine will allow organizations to instantly communicate with their teams and enable response based on roles, skills, geographies, languages, etc., at no charge.

"We believe being involved, and helping people, when it matters is an important part of what we do. xMatters is so versatile, lending use cases for a variety of communication situations," said Abbas Haider Ali, AVP of advisor services, xMatters. "We are currently working with organizations to define what services are needed and how we can help."

xMatters on demand is an easy to use, hosted service for people who need to communicate, when it matters. The service is available from any location, using a dispersed, redundant architecture and web based human interface, with support for hundreds of devices including Droid, iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry and others.

Combined with any product or service, xMatters relevance engines deliver a capability that was not possible before. By providing what matters and preventing what doesn't matter to people, relevance engines deliver higher levels of efficiency, increased levels of assurance, higher customer satisfaction and greater product adoption rates.
