Legal and Regulatory Reference Guide Published by Risk Retention Reporter and National Risk Retention Association

PASADENA, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 27, 2011) - A compendium of legal cases and regulatory issues affecting Risk Retention Groups (RRG) and Purchasing Groups (PG) since enactment of the federal Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986 has been published by the Risk Retention Reporter in partnership with the National Risk Retention Association (NRRA).

The compendium is a one-stop source of detailed historical information on 26 disputes between RRGs/PGs and state regulatory authorities. It also contains numerous supplemental articles by industry experts that provide insight and context for research on the legal and regulatory environment in which RRGs developed into a major segment of the insurance industry with more than 250 companies that generate some $2.5 billion in annual premium revenue.

The Risk Retention Reporter is the monthly professional journal that has chronicled the growth of the RRG/PG industry for 25 years. Much of the material in the compendium is drawn from the Risk Retention Reporter's archives. NRRA has represented the RRG/PG industry for 25 years and has successfully defended RRGs in the federal courts against the efforts of some states to restrict their authority to operate under the Liability Risk Retention Act.
