Eye Opening Documentary Cut Poison Burn Premiers in Jackson, MS

The eye opening and heartbreaking documentary, Cut Poison Burn, places conventional cancer treatment and medical treatment freedom under the microscope. Producers Louis Cimino and Wayne Chesler in collaboration with an Academy-award winning team at Nehst Media, release their latest endeavor with a national media tour that includes Jackson, MS.

New York, NY, Jan. 20, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With the tagline "In the war on cancer, the disease is only half the battle". Cut Poison Burn is poised to create a revolution by exposing the truth behind the cancer business. Reaching close to $100 billion in the US, the cancer research, therapies and patient treatment options continue to be controlled and impaired by a select few whose financial agendas get in the way of innovation and breakthrough therapies.

Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the US, exceeded only by heart disease. For 50 years the mortality rate has declined by a mere 5 percent, hence, conventional therapies have not proven to be effective in treating the most common cancers.  Moreover, in a 2004 study, 3 oncologists evaluated 227,874 cancer cases that involved 22 malignancies and concluded that "The overall contribution of curative and adjuvant cytotoxic chemotherapy to 5-year survival in adults was estimated to be 2.3% in Australia, and 2.1% in the USA."  In a multi-billion dollar cancer industry, why are we making little progress?

To begin a dialogue about this issue, Cut Poison Burn investigates the adverse impact that our conventional approach to cancer treatment has on the American patient and  family.  With real patient stories, industry and FDA insiders and world-renowned medical professionals, this film delivers a compelling critique of the power of medical monopolies, pharmaceutical companies and government agencies in the business that keeps them profitable and relevant, while limiting the patient’s freedom of choice.

At the core, the heart-breaking true story of Donna and Jim Navarro as they encounter road-blocks and a lack of freedom in choosing treatment options for their son Thomas. Their journey highlights flaws in policy that prevent parents from freely choosing cancer treatment options for their children. Their story has sparked a movement in support of Bill: H.R. 2736 introduced by Congressman Dan Burton from ID (R) to support patients’ right to choose the modality of treatment for their disease or illness; a freedom that many Americans are unaware does not exist.

A flagship screening in the state of Mississippi, including the attendance of Jim Navarro, will be hosted in Jackson, Mississippi, Saturday, January 28th, 6pm at Russell C. Davis Planetarium.   Tickets are available for purchase at http://store.nehst.com/cutpoisonburn.html or on day of the event for $12.00.  Proceeds will benefit several cancer charities. Copies of Dr. Russell Blaylock’s Natural Strategies for Cancer Patients will be given away. For more information about the film visit: www.cutpoisonburn.com.
