WaterFurnace Is First U.S. HVAC Equipment Manufacturer to Earn ENERGY STAR(R) Accreditation for In-House Testing Facilities

EPA Awards ISO/IEC 17025 and ENERGY STAR Recognized Laboratory Accreditation to WaterFurnace Engineering Laboratory

FORT WAYNE, IN--(Marketwire - Feb 1, 2012) - WaterFurnace International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial geothermal and water source heat pumps, announces that its labs are now ENERGY STAR® accredited by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). WaterFurnace is the only heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment manufacturer in the U.S. to attain the prestigious recognition of ISO/IEC 17025 and ENERGY STAR Recognized Laboratory for its in-house testing facilities.

This recognition will improve the national and global reputation of the WaterFurnace Engineering Laboratory due to the acceptance of its results without the need for third-party testing. Lab reports generated at the company's Fort Wayne facility can now be accepted directly by other compliance organizations, such as the EPA, the U.S. Department of Energy and the British Department of Energy and Climate Change. The EPA recognizes laboratories that meet strict accreditation requirements in order to conduct testing for ENERGY STAR-rated products.
