Frankfort Chiropractor Holds Fundraiser to Support Local Food Pantry

FRANKFORT, Ill., May 9, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Advanced Chiropractic Wellness Center recently held a successful fundraiser to support the Frankfort Township Food Pantry. In exchange for a donation to the food pantry, fundraiser attendees received a free new patient chiropractic exam. The free exam included a postural screening, chiropractic evaluation, sEMG muscle balancing test, and a full summary of findings. Fundraiser attendees also received free information about wellness care and nutrition counseling.

Chiropractor Dr. Scott Stratton announced that his practice recently held a successful fundraiser in support of the community food pantry. "Our March fundraiser was a great opportunity for patients to say goodbye to back and neck pain while making a difference for our community," said Dr. Stratton. "Many individuals are unfamiliar with the benefits of chiropractic care for natural pain management and injury treatment. Our fundraiser gave individuals the chance to make a difference for those in need while also beginning their own wellness journey."

In exchange for a food pantry donation, individuals received several free diagnostic tests. These tests included a postural screening, chiropractic evaluation and the sEMG muscle balance test.

sEMG stands for Surface Electromyography, a diagnostic test that measures muscle balance. A patient stands in a still, neutral position while tiny electrodes measure areas of high or low voltage along the patients back. Results are presented on a bar graph, indicating areas of the body with abnormal high or low muscle movement.

"The sEMG test helps us identify areas of muscle dysfunction while providing patients with a clear visualization of underlying injuries in the body" said Dr. Stratton. "Adjustments help restore alignment to the body, which allows the muscles to move naturally again. When we look at before and after test results, the difference is clear!"

Fundraiser attendees received a summary of their diagnostic results from the chiropractor, along with recommendations for future care. "Some of our attendees have struggled with chronic neck or back pain for years," said Dr. Stratton. "We presented each attendee with a full summary of their diagnostic test results along with recommendations for future care."

According to Dr. Stratton, an auto injury, sports injury or natural aging may cause a misalignment of the musculoskeletal system. When this occurs, spinal adjustments can help restore proper alignment, alleviating pain. "We strongly encourage anyone who is struggling with chronic pain to receive a diagnostic evaluation," said Dr. Stratton. "Non-invasive treatments that address the underlying cause for an injury are essential to recovery."

Dr. Stratton has been serving the local Frankfort community since 1991. In his two decades of service, Dr. Stratton has helped thousands of patients naturally manage chronic pain and heal following an injury.
