Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc. Board of Directors Appoints Grubic as Chairman and Specht as Vice Chairman


MILLERSBURG, Pa., June 22, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc., (Nasdaq:MPB), parent company of Mid Penn Bank, announced that Robert C. Grubic has been appointed as chairman of the board and William A. Specht, III, as vice chairman, as unanimously voted by the board of directors May 1, 2012.

The appointments were made upon the retirement of Edwin D. Schlegel, effective May 1, who served as board chairman since 2008.

Grubic is president and CEO of Herbert, Rowland and Grubic, Inc. of Harrisburg. He has been serving on Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc.'s board of directors since 2006. Prior to his appointment as chairman, Grubic served as the board's vice chairman.

Specht is president and CEO of Seal Glove Manufacturing of Millersburg, and president of Ark Safety and Rescue Remedies, also in Millersburg. He has been serving on Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc.'s board of directors since 2006.

Donald E. Sauve, who served on Mid Penn Bancorp Inc.'s board of directors since 1999, also retired May 1.
