Will Daniels, SVP at Earthbound Farm, to Address the Future of Food Safety as the Keynote Speaker for the 2013 Food Safety Summit

BALTIMORE, MD--(Marketwire - Oct 22, 2012) - Food safety professionals will have the opportunity to hear from Will Daniels, Senior Vice President, Operations and Organic Integrity, Earthbound Farm, who will be the keynote speaker for the Food Safety Summit on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Baltimore Convention Center, MD. During the keynote, The Future of Food Safety: When Industry, Academia and Regulators Work Together, Daniels will address the need to have better collaboration between industry and government with emphasis on breaking old models and creating new ones that focus on transparency, understanding and a desire to truly protect public health.

"The importance of the food safety professionals working with government regulators was touched upon during Oscar Garrison's keynote address at this past Summit and we are thrilled that Mr. Daniels has agreed to pick up on this important issue and deliver this year's keynote address," said Scott Wolters, Director of Tradeshows and Conference for BNP Media, producers of the Food Safety Summit. "We believe our attendees will be inspired by Will's honesty and integrity in handling the Earthbound Farm's spinach crisis in the late 90's and how the company has developed a food safety program which is unparalleled in the industry."

Daniels' leadership has been pivotal in developing Earthbound Farm's industry-leading food safety and organic integrity programs. He has been featured in food safety stories published in such media as The New York Times and Good Morning America.
